HUGE BOOTH (휴즈부스)는 슬로우스테디클럽에서 기획하여 제공하는 전시 형태의 갤러리 프로그램으로 개인, 단체, 브랜드 등 규모 및 분야 그리고 온, 오프라인에 경계와 구분 없이 근본적인 기획 의도를 잘 전달하는 것에 집중하고자 합니다. 또한, 휴즈부스는 전시회 뿐만 아니라 팝업스토어, 토크쇼, 기획 상품 제작 등 다양한 수단으로 기획 의도를 설명하고자 하는 프로그램이며 전시 기간과 회수 또한 전시 특성에 따라 유연하게 진행됩니다.

Re(리)는 다시를 의미합니다. 그리고 우리가 사용하는 다시는 결과의 반복이 아닌 과정의 반복을 뜻합니다. 다시’라는 말은 생각보다 쉽지 않죠. 처음부터 무언가를 다시 시작하는 것은 결단과 행동 그리고 끈기가 있어야 하기 때문입니다.

 

왜냐하면, Re(리)는 새로운 시작임과 동시에 또다시라는 더 나은 결과물을 만들기 위한 과정을 개선된 또 다른 방식의 과정을 수행해야 하기 때문입니다. 그래서, 이 과정은 매우 큰 용기와 결단 그리고 에너지가 필요합니다. 그 결단으로부터 시작을 했다면, 그 후로는 초심을 잃지 않고 끈기 있는 행동이 수반된다면, 분명 무언가를 더욱 가치있게 만들고 때로는 새 생명을 불어넣기도 한다고 생각합니다.

 

우리는 이번에 슬로우스테디클럽 온라인숍을 리뉴얼(Renewal) 하고, 오래된 재고를 새로운 컬러로 가먼트 다잉을 하여 리바이벌(Revival) 하고자 했으며, 또한 핸드메이드 리메이크 브랜드 이스트오캄(East Oklm)과 협업하여 재고 상품들을 해체하고 빈티지 원단과 조합하여 제작한 리메이크(Remake) 상품을 선보이고자 합니다.

이번 Re(리)를 통해서 슬로우스테디클럽의 방향성을 더욱 명료하게 말하려고 합니다. 패션 분야에서 해결해야 하는 중요한 숙제 중에 하나인 매년 쌓여가는 재고가 폐기되어 환경에 악영향을 끼치는 부분에 있어서 저희는 저희만의 해답을 찾기 위해 새로운 도전을 하는 것이기도 합니다. 물론, 이 도전이 실패한다고 하더라도 저희는 이 도전을 통해서 무엇이 아쉬웠고 무엇이 좋았는지를 깨닫고 또다시 재도전할 것이기 때문입니다.
